The Riverside Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) is a government contracting resource center that has served local businesses for over 20 years.

 

Our goal is to stimulate the Inland Empire’s economy by providing free or low cost service and resources to businesses who want to sell their goods and/or services to the local, state, or federal governments.

How to Access our Services:

  • What is a Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC)?

Congress created the Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAP) to help businesses seeking to compete successfully in federal, state, and local government contracting. Funded through a cooperative agreement between the Department of Defense (DoD) and Riverside Community College District, our PTAC provides a range of expert services at little or no charge. 

  • What do I need to do to receive assistance from the PTAC? 

To receive assistance from the PTAC, simply click above on the “Become a Client” button. You will be asked to complete a simple form, which allows us to identify your business and collect information we’ll need in order to assist. After completing your information, you will receive an automated email with a link to schedule your first PTAC appointment.

  • What does the PTAC charge for its services?

This PTAC program is funded by the Department of Defense (DoD) in a cooperative agreement with the Riverside Community College District (RCCD) Office of Economic Development. We do not charge for our standard services. The only time we may charge for our services is for a conference or seminar- to cover our costs.

  • What is your service area?

Our PTAC program is authorized to serve the counties of San Bernardino and Riverside only. To locate a PTAC program in your area, click here.

  • Do I have to come to your office for a counseling session? 

We prefer that you attend your initial appointment here at our office so we can connect in-person and learn about your business’ industry and needs. However, we can also schedule a conference call, and virtual meetings are also available, to meet entirely online!

  • Is government contracting difficult?

The U.S. Government is the largest single purchaser of goods and services in the world, buying everything from paper clips – to armored tanks. Every year, the federal government awards more than $500 Billion in contracts, with a significant share of those contracts allotted to small businesses. 

Although the needs may be similar, the methods of selling to government agencies can be quite different from the private marketplace. There are multiple – and sometimes – overlapping regulations, laws, and rules that are applied. How involved your business becomes in using or understanding the process really depends on how well you understand and use the established systems. Our program is here to facilitate that understanding, and help you to learn all of the processes by breaking it down step-by-step.
